Communication Skill Laboratory

English Language Communication Skills Laboratory, a course for undergraduateMarine Engineering, Nautical Science cadets, plays a significant role in enhancingthe skills of engineering students. It comprises of the four skills of learning –Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing (LSRW) in addition to their theory. An engineering student’s success in the “on campus recruitment” is mainly based ontheir demonstrations of communication skills. English language CommunicationSkills Lab (CS Lab) is a facility where a cadet can learn a language with the help andguidance of a teacher through a system, to improve his / her speaking and listeningcapacity. The C. S. Lab can receive inputs from recorded tapes, audios and videos,CDs, etc.
The lab develops among the cadets a habit of listening and speaking with accuratepronunciation through stress on word accent, intonation and rhythm. Cadets canrecord their own voice and play back for self-evaluation. These labs have advancedremote monitoring facility, which enables the teacher to monitor all the studentsthrough a master control.
